Heritage Village

If only I had been a little less tired last 2 nights when that big storm broke over Abu Dhabi, I would've really enjoyed it. Instead, it woke me up and I watched it bleary eyed from my pillow.  Can I have a replay?  Hehehe..it was raining with thunderstorm after that sharqi's day...Weird huh? One day the sand storm comes and the other day it rains the whole night!  Sejuk pulak yesterday..
I love thunder storms, especially ones during the daytime. The sky suddenly darkens, the birds start to sound funny, a wind builds up and you get your first flash of lightening followed by anticipated thunder rumbles. It's great being caught out in one, having to run for shelter until it passes into the distance  ....hehehe ok now stop talking about the weather here and let's concentrate about the heritage village. 
The heritage village provides a taste of life before the oil era in 1970. Its displays an insight into Bedouin life, as well as courtyard houses, wind towers and an example of the ancient irrigation system used in the region's oases. In different workshops craftsmen and women demonstrate traditional skills and the museum has displays of garments, coins, Holy Qurans, diving equipment, jewellery and weaponry from a bygone era. 
As you can see the pictures in previous entry, it shows Abu Dhabi as a busy metropolis of spectacular high rise towers, the layout of the city even today reflects its origins as a fishing village...
After one whole evening we explored the heritage village, we went to the nearby seafood restaurant. I love the outside seating, being out to sea gives you a pleasant sense of detachment from city life and you will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The food is also good.  We had a really enjoyable evening together...Izz really luv this kind of outing, he laughed a lot!

The Sharqi's here and this year it's come early! Along with it comes the headaches, sore throats and damp dusting.
Anyway, check this out. This was taken last week. Got more pictures, but I'm too busy to upload..busy watpe eh? Entahlaa..mostly the usual stuffs.
~dabudabi..should be nicer if I took it with the DSLR, but it's too heavy to carry  ~
Oh, one more thing...I know I have a lot of 'lurkers' that read this blog. In other words, those people who read but never comment. Come and say hello and introduce yourselves. Are you in dabudabi or from oh Malaysia tanahairku? C'mon now, don't be shy....

Happy Birthday, Boo!

You don't need to go to Carribean Island or Maldives or Mauritius to see this such beautifoolll scenery with bluish-greenish water and white sandy beach,
Just come to Abu Dhabi! hihihihi... ..I never thought the desert got beach camni..
Last Thursday on the 8th March, we celebrated Boo's 1st birthday in this spectacular place. It's on working hours, so hubby couldn't join us...I went there with Rina, Izz and Shena. Thanks Rina ye for bringing us there, Izz and I really had a wonderful time..the food was so nice...love the nasi tomato, Sarah's kerabus and Elly's Ciken Wings...Next time I want to picnic at this place again and bring hubs along...

~My favorite flavours are jamoca almond fudge and very berry strawberries! Habisla minggu ni, baru je turun 2kg, sure naik balik ni.~
I still remember the time after we both got married - nak makan baskin robbins memang fikir 10x la. At that time, we really got a lot of commitments - nak bayar kereta, rumah, utilities, hutang credit card, etc.....I kerja TM gaji berapa sgtla kan, eventhough time tu hubby kat Shell , in the end of the month cukup2 je....
Syukur alhamdulillah, now kat sini, bila I rasa nak makan apa-apa je, terus VOILA! Nyum nyum...burpp.. My parents ckp itula rezeki...rezeki is what kita dapat makan, bukan in forms of money ke, barang ke. Anyhow, kena jaga jugakla, nanti byk sgt makan ni...gemukkkk!!!

10 months in AD, we've never been here. Since that Rina's house is near to this place, so we tried to survey this Al Mariah Cinema....Nothing much, just got a small Petshop;
Chillis, Cinema, Max, Gloria Jeans coffee and a bunch of games and computer shops. Also got shops selling imitation handbags and swarovski beads for HP. Last but not least, we found the McD! Huh, lama sungguh tak makan McD ni...Once u've tried Hardees kan, you'll forget the taste of McD!
Along the our way back, we went to the Home Centre to find my old mission - a pair of table lamps for our master bedroom.
