My dad named me "Puteri" as my first name. When I was a child my classmates used to ask me, "Are you the real Puteri / Princess?" Haha, no, I am not..it's just a name..But the experience entering the Dolmabahce Palace was really great! I can imagine the life of the previous Ottoman Kings, living in their era. It was home to 6 sultans and the founding leader of modern republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Ataturk spent his last days and died here.

~The guard is not moving! Handsome! ~

~With my prince!~

We had a turbo tour here...hehe...coz the palace is really huge! But there's too much too see. I wanted to see the famous Crystal Staircase that has the shape of a double horseshoe and is built of Baccarat crystal, brass and mahogany. Also wanted to see the bedroom, toilet and hamam (bathroom) of the Ottoman sultans. Also featured are 150-year-old bearskin rugs originally presented to the Sultan as a gift by the Tsar of Russia. The best thing to see is the world's largest Bohemian crystal chandelier at the center hall. The chandelier has 750 lamps and weighs 4.5 tons!

But the best of all to look up and see this....I was hoping some of the gold leaves will fall onto my head! ...the ceilings of the palace were gilded by fourteen tons of gold in the form of gold leaves!
